Government Schemes and Financial Assistance
Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs)
STCs are an electronic form of currency created by the Renewable Energy (Electricity) Act 2000. One STC is equivalent to one megawatt hour of electricity generated by your solar PV power system.
The level of subsidy will depend on a number of factors, including the location (also known as the zone) of the solar PV system, the size of the system and the price of STCs at the time the system is installed. You will assign your STCs when your purchase your solar PV system to Harpers Electrical in exchange for an upfront discount on your system.
Solar Credits
Based on the STC scheme as outlined above, Solar Credits multiplies the number of STCs that your PV solar system is eligible for. Please note that this is only applicable to the first 1.5kW of capacity.
If you have a system larger than 1.5kW, you will receive your credits plus an additional STC for every megawatt hour generated.
Feed-in Tariffs
Feed-in tariffs reimburse you for electricity generated by your solar PV system. Net feed-in tariffs ensure that a premium is paid for any solar energy that you direct back into the grid.
